Kodoani.com – Live-action production team adapting the boy love manga One Room Angel of Harada revealed on Friday that Sano Ibuki will perform the film’s ending theme song “Kyūen” (Eternity).
MBS also broadcasts the main songs. Shūhei Uesugi (One Week Friends, River’s Edge, left in the image above) plays Kōki, while Kansai Johnny’s Jr. member Takuya Nishimura. (right) plays the role of an angel. Kōki Tanaka (left in the image above) plays A-kun, a high school student who will be a key character in the relationship between Kōki and the angel. Kyōko Hasegawa (center) plays Arisa, Kōki’s mother. Oda Oideyasu (right) plays the manager of the convenience store where Kōki works. The film will premiere on MBS’s Drama Shower block on October 19.
The manga revolves around Kōki, an indifferent convenience store employee and a self-proclaimed angel whom Kōki meets. The story begins when Kōki is stabbed by a random thug and in his dying moments, he sees an angel. He thought he was being welcomed into the afterlife, but he found himself fully recovered. And when he returned home, he found that angel was there. After discovering the angel has no memories and cannot fly, Kōki takes pity on him and lets him stay with him for a while.
Yuka Eda will direct the film, with a script by Aya Watatane. Shōta Aoi will perform the theme song of the series “8th Heaven”. Queen Bee member Avu-chan, a friend of Harada, wrote and composed the song. Aoi previously voiced the angel character in the manga’s drama CD.
Harada serialized the manga, a remake of the 2013 short story “Tomarigi” (Perch), in Shodensha’s On Blue magazine from 2017 to 2019. Shodensha published a compilation booklet for the manga in 2017. 2019.
