Kodoani.com – The official website for the live-action series adaptation of the manga by Asumiko Nakamura and Yuuri Eda is Sensei no Otoriyose (Sensei’s Mail-Order Food) revealed the singers for the series, as well as a mini-spinoff on Tuesday. SOMETIME’S will perform the opening theme song “Somebody,” while Bialystocks will perform the ending song “Sashiiro.”
In addition, the series will also have a 5-episode mini-series titled Sensei no Otoriyose ~ Haitatsuin Kimejima-kun no Oishii Nichijō ~ which will premiere on YouTube from March 27 to 31.
The series will premiere on TV Tokyo on April 8.
Osamu Mukai plays Haruka Enomura, while Yukiya Kitamura plays Miruku Nakata.
Additional cast members include Manami Hashimoto as Kyōko Kudō, Fuju Kamio as Kimejima-kun, and Naomi Zaizen as Shinonome-san.
The story revolves around the relationship between the cheerful, girly manga artist Miruku Nakata and the rough but sexy erotic writer Haruka Enomura (who wrote the story for the manga Nakata). They were fans of each other’s works, but when they actually met, they were shocked by how different each other’s looks and personalities were from what they expected. However, they slowly open up to each other through their common obsession: ordering local cuisine by mail from remote areas.
In real life, Nakamura and Eda based the story on the actual food they ordered by mail. Nakamura will draw a manga chapter for the combined project, then Eda will write a novel chapter, and the two creators will continue to alternate chapters between them.
Kentarō Moriya, Toshiyuki Honma and Katsumi Emura are directing the film, with a script by Kisa Miura, Junichirō Taniguchi and Hisako Fujihara. Tarō Makido is composing music.
Nakamura and Eda launched the manga in pixiv Comic in 2013 and ended it in 2018. Libre Publishing has released two compiled book volumes for the manga.
