Kodoani.com – TV Asahi revealed on Monday three cast members and the April 21 premiere for the live-action series adaptation of the film. Wave, Listen to Me! (Nami yo Kiite Kure) manga.
The cast includes (pictured above from left to right):
Nanoka Hara as Mizuho Nanba, MRS assistant manager Kazuki Kitamura as Kanetsugu Matō, director of GENERATIONS’ MRS Ryota Katayose production team as Chūya Nakahara, employee at curry soup restaurant Voyager
The program will be broadcast on TV Asahi and 2 other branches.
Fūka Koshiba (live-action Kiki’s Delivery Service, Sadako DX) stars as Minare Koda. Koshiba wore blonde hair for the first time in her life for this role.
Takashi Sumida , Osamu Katayama and Hisashi Ueda are directing the film, with a script by Kazunao Furuya. Yuki Hayashi and Shōgo Yamashiro will be composing the music.
The stage is Sapporo, Hokkaido. One night, our heroine, Minare Koda, vented her heartache to a radio station employee she met while out drinking one night. The next day, she hears a recording of her pitiful grumbling going live on air. Minare bursts into the station in a fit of rage, only to be tricked by the station director into doing an impromptu talk show explaining her scathing dialogue. With just one recording, the many eccentric aspects of Minare’s life begin to pull in all directions as she sinks deeper and deeper into the world of radio.
Samura launched the manga in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine in July 2014. Kodansha published the manga’s ninth volume in January 2022.
The manga inspired an anime that premiered in April 2020.
