Loki will be the first MCU series to get a second season. Now filming for the new season has officially begun.
Kodoani.com – After an impressive first season that continues to expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a bold and cosmic direction, Loki would be the first MCU series to earn a second season. Now, filming for that new season is officially underway.
Loki season 1 saw Tom Hiddleston’s antihero travel through time to help repair the universe’s timeline and stop a larger threat after being sent to the mysterious Time Variance Agency ( TVA), an organization that exists outside of time and space and oversees the timeline. The film first premiered on Disney Plus last summer and will go on to receive rave reviews from critics and become the most watched MCU movie.
While it was unfortunately taken down, cinematographer Isaac Bauman took to Instagram to confirm the date of the first filming in London. The post revealed Bauman’s chair placed in front of a green screen, with the caption, “First day, just getting started…”. The original image can be seen below.
In addition to Bauman’s post, online production resource site KFTV also confirmed that season 2 has indeed begun filming. With production now underway and also made aware of Hiddleston’s recent comments about the return of the entire cast for season 1, the excitement for season 2 continues to run high.
While the plot details for the new season are still being kept under wraps, if the end of the first season is any indication, Loki certainly has some serious timing issues to deal with. In that final installment, Loki and Sylvie face off against He Who Remains, a variant of Kang the Conqueror played by Jonathan Majors (who will return as the main antagonist in next year’s Ant -Man and the Wasp: Quantumania). After Sylvie brought Loki back to TVA headquarters, she ended up killing the He Who Remains, unleashing a multiverse with alternate timelines. This storyline also allows Loki to continue his journey of redemption, a big focus in season 1.
Following the departure of director Kate Herron, Marvel boss Kevin Feige brought in Moon Knight director duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, a decision that seems like the right one considering the story. about Loki’s other world. In addition to Hiddleston in the title role, the series also stars Owen Wilson as Mobius, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as the B-1 Hunter and Tara Strong as the B-1 Hunter. the voice of Miss Minutes.
Loki part 2 currently filming, while season 1 is available to stream on Disney Plus.
