The official Twitter account for Mag Garden’s Mag Comi website revealed on Wednesday that Kozue Amano’s Amanchu Manga will end on May 10.
Amano previously revealed that the manga’s 17th volume will be the final volume. The volume will be published on November 10.
The manga entered its final volume in September 2020.
Crunchyroll streamed the anime adaptation of the manga and describes the story:
Kohinata Hikari and Ooki Futaba have found fun together with their hobby of scuba diving and the most casual events. Hikari was born and raised in a small oceanside town in Izu, and Futaba moved there from Tokyo, but the two extremes meet at Yumegaoka High and immediately become at odds. The always reserved Futaba has found her perfect opposite in the cheerful and optimistic Hikari, and their friendship has given her the courage to take the first step and experience the many smaller joys in life. She also took the Water Diver exam and passed, and now she’s in her sights with her Advanced Water Diver certificate.
The once-in-a-lifetime high school life is just beginning. Their magical days won’t end as long as they keep walking together.
Amano launches Amanchu! in Mag Garden’s Comic Blade magazine in November 2008 after completing Aria earlier that year. Mag Garden published the manga’s 16th volume on February 27.
The manga inspired the first television anime season in July 2016. The second season, Amanchu! Advance, which premiered in April 2018.
