This year’s 30th issue of Shueisha, Young Jump magazine revealed on Monday that Satoru Noda’s Golden Kamuy manga will be on hiatus, and the manga will return in its 35th issue on the 29th. The authors will be using ngji3’s time for three weeks of research and planning, and the journal itself will be on hiatus for a week due to some upcoming combined release.
Viz Media is releasing the manga in English and it describes the first volume:
In the early 20th century, Russian-Japanese veteran Saichi the “immortal” Sugimoto outlined the meager existence of a postwar gold rush in the Hokkaido wilderness. When he stumbles across a map to a treasure trove of gold hidden by the Ainu clan, he begins an arduous search to find it. But Sugimoto isn’t the only interested party, and everyone who knows about gold will kill for it! Faced with the harsh conditions of the northern wilderness, ruthless criminals, and rogue Japanese soldiers, Sugimoto will need all his skill and luck — and the help of one girl. Ainu’s name is Asirpa — to survive.
