The success of Fujimoto’s latest work was announced on the official Shonen Jump+ Twitter. The new one-shot manga was first announced on July 15, and quickly built up hype based on the love for Fujimoto’s previous manga, Chainsaw Man, which ended publication in October. December 2020. Shonen Jump + is an online spin-off of the publisher Shueisha. Weekly Shonen Jump, and has published many popular manga series including Spy X Family and Kaiju No. 8. Look Back broke the service’s previous record for most views in a day. Fujimoto’s manga is also available to read in English for free on Shueisha’s Manga Plus website. Shueisha will also release a print copy of Look Back this September.

Look Back tells the story of two aspiring manga artists who are bonded together by a love of media but end up drifting apart as they age. The manga has received near-universal acclaim from both fans and professional critics since its release.
In addition to Look Back , Fujimoto also released a new illustration depicting the central characters of the Canadian PG comedy horror film Psycho Goreman . Fujimoto’s most famous work, Chainsaw Man, is currently being adapted into an anime series by Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen studio MAPPA. The series will be directed by director Ryu Nakayama, who has worked on anime such as Naruto: Shippuden, Macross Delta, and One-Punch Man. The anime currently has no release date.
