Shuuichi Shigeno (Initial D) created the MF Ghost manga in May 2017. Twelve volumes of the manga have been published.
The story takes place in the 2020s, when self-driving cars are popular in Japan. The manga revolves around Kanata Livington, a Japanese racer who returns to Japan after graduating first place at a racetrack in England. The series also focuses on the MFG, a public road race track that has gained worldwide attention.
Shigeno ended the manga EASY Initialization in Young Magazine in July 2013, and Tokyopop published the first part of that manga in North America, and Kodansha Comics and Comixology is offering the complete manga in English. The manga has inspired several animated television series, a live-action film, several original anime video projects, and a successful game line. The manga recently inspired a trilogy of anime films, the trio of which hit theaters in February 2016.
