Because the Covid 19 pandemic situation is getting worse, it is very likely that many anime projects scheduled for release in 2023 will be delayed.
Kyoko Kotani, an animator famous for the popular Anime series Spy x Family or Blue Lock recently informed fans of not-so-happy news. Accordingly, he said that not only China but many Korean studios also have difficulty completing Anime series on time because of complicated developments of Covid 13. He himself has been unable to complete an unnamed project for about a year now. And there is a high possibility that many anime works scheduled to be released in 2023 will be delayed.
Completing an animated work is a laborious and time consuming process that requires the contribution of animators from all over the world.
In recent years, a large amount of animation work has been outsourced to Japan in countries such as China, Korea, and Southeast Asian countries (Philippines, Vietnam, etc.) Skilled freelance animator.
These artists play an important role in the Japanese animation industry and if they are unable to work due to Covid 19, it will certainly affect the Anime production process.
The situation is further complicated by the fact that many Anime series are produced on a very tight schedule, which is less likely to be delayed. This means that any interruption in production can cause a Domino effect, potentially leading to delays in the release of many other works.
Not to mention that the anime “Isekai Ojisan” is the first to be affected by the aforementioned problem. Anime “Isekai Ojisan” (Uncle from Another World) announced that this work has been put on an indefinite hiatus once again despite only having the last episode. The reason given is due to the complicated development of the Covid-19 pandemic in China.
The release date of the last episode will be announced soon by the producer.
“Isekai Ojisan” had a rather bad luck when it premiered from July 2022, but it still could not finish the year even though it only had 13 episodes. The first time was delayed due to lack of manpower, causing the work to be delayed by a month while showing episode 5 (August to 9), and Studio Atelier Pontdarc decided to rerun this entire Anime from October to follow the season progress. But as soon as the work only had the last episode left, it was postponed again due to the Covid 19 problem.
