Many Support champions are starting to deal more damage than their carries and Riot Games does not want this to continue in version 14.7.
In the upcoming version, Support champions will be more diverse and have their ability to deal damage reduced. According to Riot Phroxzon, the main gameplay designer of League of Legends confirmed that the team is aiming to adjust champions Nami, Nunu, Karma, Sona and Camille. These characters have relatively high damage output compared to the average, the next adjustment will make them play more purely support and stop prioritizing items with a lot of damage.
Karma, a pure Support Magician general, has become a phenomenon in the Mid Lane with the new item Fire Bacteria. She can easily spam R + Q to deal huge amounts of damage, reducing enemy magic resistance before casting another Inner Fire. Besides that amount of damage, she still ensures a stable amount of shield for the whole team and effectively protects the main force. In patch 14.6, she was adjusted once but without much effect. Therefore, Riot will continue to adjust until this general returns to the full Support role.
The focus of editing for this role comes largely from Camille, the Steel Shadow who was originally designed for the Top Lane position. But recently, this girl has been chosen by many Korean players for the Support role to increase her attack power. She easily coordinates with other assassins to lock down and take down the opponent's main force. This success mainly comes from equipping Blood Claw – an item that significantly increases the damage of her Q attacks. This item is also determined to be nerfed in the next version.
In addition, Camille herself will also receive some adjustments to return to the Top Lane role when she realizes that players are gradually ignoring this position. The developer says that Steel Shadow in the Support role is still usable, but it shouldn't be superior to her main position.
Besides, Janna was suddenly not included in the spotlight in version 14.7. According to Riot, she is stronger thanks to equipping Void Detonator Zak'Zak and this item will be nerfed. They will then continue to monitor the situation and make an official decision in a later update.
