Previously, Riot Games was forced to temporarily lock this map to remove a bug related to agent Jett’s ability to fly in the A-Heaven area.
Recently, the Valorant developers announced that Split can be played again in ranked mode just one day after being disabled. Although the developers did not mention the reason why this map was locked, we can easily speculate that the appearance of a new Jett bug prompted Riot to act quickly.
Previously, Riot was forced to disable Split from ranked mode on June 9 with the appearance of a new bug related to Jett’s ability after patch 4.11 was completed. It is known that if Jett uses Updradt in the A-Heaven area, she can climb to an elevated area and stay there until the round ends. Initially, only certain players encountered the above bug, but later it became more widespread as more and more players complained about the situation.
This bug allows Jett to take full control of the Heaven area, one of the key positions in the defense of bombsite A, with a wide field of view. Not only that, but Jett can also easily defeat the enemy team’s lurkers who intend to enter site A from the Mid area via Connect. Attackers will probably never check above them as the location is said to be inaccessible and they will eventually be taken down without knowing where they were hit from.
After Riot Games announced the disabling for Split map, we tested and confirmed that the above bug has been completely removed from the game.
Another information related to the map system in Valorant is the appearance of the 8th map revealed by Riot Games itself this morning. We can see the image of a large town lying in the ocean with the words “Welcome to our city, wonder under the waves and day of the holy land,” translated from Portuguese, possibly is the location of the next map.
An ocean themed map is likely to be introduced to Valorant gamers soon. However, the official release date of this map has not been announced by Riot Games yet.
