Manga to premiere in January 2020, volume 2 published on April 15
Mag Garden publisher announced that the third volume of Mars Red manga will be the final volume to publish. The third volume will be published on July 14.
The manga’s second volume revealed in April that the manga will culminate in the third volume.
Karakara launched the manga in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Garden magazine in January 2020.
The stage-reading series also has an ongoing television anime adaptation. Funimation, the anime co-production company with Yomiuri TV Enterprise, describes the story:
MARS RED takes place in 1923, and vampires have been around for quite some time. But now, the number of vampires is increasing and a mysterious artificial blood source called Ascra has appeared.
The Japanese government, in turn, created “Code Zero,” a unit in the military tasked with destroying vampire forces. And what better way to track vampires than using vampires?
Founded by Lieutenant General Nakajima, this unit was once active in the field of information warfare, but was re-assigned to solve the vampire crisis. Code Zero and the S-rank vampire Defrot must investigate this rise and stop it before society collapses.
Funimation premiered the anime with both English subtitles and an English dub on March 29, a week before its April 5 premiere in Japan. The second episode streamed as it aired in Japan.
MARS RED’s first production phase debuted in 2013, with more shows in 2015 and 2017.
