The possible release date of Marvel’s Wolverine was revealed through a document shared by Microsoft with investigators.
Microsoft may have revealed the possible release time of the PlayStation exclusive Marvel’s Wolverine. Marvel’s Wolverine is in development at Insomniac Games, and was announced at the PlayStation Showcase event held in September 2021. Sony only shared a short trailer from the title, with no gameplay footage or any other. which release window is possible.
Marvel’s Wolverine is being directed by the creative heads of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, launching November 2020 on PS4 and PS5, with a PC release scheduled for November 18, 2022. Marvel’s Wolverine was in early development at the time of its announcement, so fans assumed they would have to wait a couple of years to get their hands on the game. However, it looks like the game will launch sooner than some players might expect.
As spotted by Tech4Gamers and later reported by Video Games Chronicle, Microsoft has shared a new document featuring a list of PlayStation games in response to the CMA’s statement regarding the proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard . Microsoft expressed disappointment at the comments made by the CMA, saying its concerns were misplaced. In the document, Microsoft mentioned that PlayStation has some of their exclusives and that external studios coming in 2023 include Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Horizon, Final Fantasy 16, Forspoken, and Marvel’s Wolverine.
Almost all of these games are scheduled to launch in 2023, with Forspoken having an official release date of January 24, 2023. Alternatively, Microsoft may have mentioned the VR game Horizon Call of the Mountain when noting about the Horizon series. This makes Marvel’s Wolverine the only game with no announced release date. However, this information should not be too high and fans will have to wait for the final confirmation from Sony. However, Insomniac Games has released some games at a brisk pace in the last few years, so it doesn’t seem out of the question. Perhaps they plan to launch Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in the summer and Marvel’s Wolverine in Q4 2022.
Microsoft seems to be pointing to the fact that Sony has many other studios’ games exclusive to their platform, which could strengthen their case in acquiring Activision Blizzard. While Marvel’s products are their own titles, Final Fantasy 16 and Forspoken are other party games developed exclusively for the PlayStation.
