Insomniac Games confirmed that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also be releasing for PC alongside Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.
AAA video games using Marvel Comics characters are becoming increasingly popular. One of the most popular games starring a superhero from the Marvel franchise is Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man which was released in 2018 for PS4. The game later had a spin-off called Spider-Man: Miles Morales that followed Miles on his adventure to rescue New York City from a new threat in Peter Parker’s absence. After that, the next Marvel’s Spider-Man game will officially come to PS5, starring both Spider-Men and Venom.
All of these games are PlayStation exclusives, with both Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales coming to PS5. However, Sony has in recent years allowed some of its exclusives to port to PC, with the most recent port being God of War 2018. This trend is continuing with the State of Play event in June. The last year of 2022 revealed that Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will be released to PC in August later this year. However, there is a small information that has not been officially announced with the introduction trailer that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also appear on PC.
Following the State of Play presentation, a blog written by Ryan Schneider of Insomniac was posted on the PlayStation homepage. The article notes that both games will be coming to PC, with the option to use a controller or keyboard available so players can control Spider-Man. These PC ports of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also have PC-specific graphics settings, along with other features to be announced at a later date.
According to Schneider, these ports to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales were made possible thanks to PlayStation partner studio Nixxes Software, which has been credited with optimizing both games for PC . Nixxes Software founder Jurjen Katsman noted that the company is a huge fan of Insomniac Games’ work, including the two Spider-Man titles, and it’s honored to help developers port the game to the new platform.
The article concludes with the release timeframes for the PC versions of the game, with Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered set to be released in August as previously mentioned. However, Spider-Man: Miles Morales won’t arrive on PC until later this year, and there’s still no specific release date at this point. This will be an appropriate opportunity for gamers to enjoy the above games because Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released around 2023.
