In Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S episode 7, Kanna and friends investigate what they thought was a ghost – but it turned out to be something strange.
One thing that the fans Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid You can trust that Kanna will always be absolutely adorable. The last segment of episode 7 Brings the youngest dragon and her friends into the spotlight as they investigate rumors of a haunting at school for the class newspaper. The kids had trouble concentrating on the task, they were all distracted by the game and Riko (as usual) was distracted by Kanna’s cuteness, but Kanna found something super nature at school – and it’s not a ghost, it’s something alien.
It turns out that the “ghost” of the school is actually … a fairy. Kanna grabs this tiny but super muscular fairy, whom she immediately declares “scary”, while her friends don’t look and take him home. She suspects the fairy is from the “afterlife” dragons come from, and he confirms that he passed through a portal purely by accident. The mysterious sounds that the students believe are coming from a ghost are due to the fairy grinding her nails on the blackboard. Ilulu uses her magic to create another portal back to the “afterlife” for the fairy to return home.
The next day at school, the ghost hunting group turns their sights to space and aliens. Since no one had actually found a ghost yesterday and none of the human children knew about the fairy, Riko initially dismissed this new paranormal investigation as a waste of time. Of course, as soon as Kanna said that hunting aliens sounded interesting, the life-loving Riko automatically changed her tune. However, even Riko, who is so obsessed with Kanna that Episode 7 even includes fantasizing about her wedding, sounds a bit odd in the next episode preview as Kanna discusses about it. Roswell and Area 51.
This new scenario about half-hearted kids investigating paranormal phenomena – all of which actually exist in some form of surprise but Kanna has to keep the human kids ignorant of it – just like elementary school. the equivalent of the SOS Brigade in Haruhi Suzumiya’s The Melancholy. Since the main directors of Dragon Maid , Tatsuya Ishihara and the late Yasuhiro Takemoto, both worked on Haruhi , both are probably attracted to similar materials. These school investigations can make for a cute and funny repetition in the story.
