Kodoani.com – TOHO announced on Monday that it is producing a live-action film adaptation of the light novels by writer Akumi Agitogi and illustrator Tsukiho Tsukioka. My Happy Marriage (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) will premiere in spring 2023. Ren Meguro from idol group Snow Man will play Kiyoka, while Mio Imada will play Miyo.
Ayuko Tsukahara will direct the film with a script by Tomoe Kanno.
Agitogi and Tsukioka launched the novel series in January 2019. The novel’s fifth volume was published in July 2021. Yen Press licensed the light novel and it describes the story:
Born into a noble family, Miyo was raised by an abusive stepmother and married Kiyoka, a soldier so heartless that his former fiancée ran away within three days of the engagement ceremony. their kiss. Yen Press released the first volume of novels in English on January 18. The novels are also the inspiration for Kinema Citrus’ upcoming TV adaptation.
A manga adaptation by Rito Kohsaka launched on Square Enix’s Gangan Online website in December 2018. The manga’s third volume was published in Japan in October 2021.
