My Hero Academia partners with NBA and Crunchyroll for streetwear line All Might

The My Hero Academia brand expands further into the mainstream, this time partnering with the NBA and Crunchyroll on a new streetwear line.

Crunchyroll has launched a new line of limited edition t-shirts in collaboration with anime My Hero Academia, Hyperfly, NBA and NBALAB. “Get ready for t-shirts from your favorite teams, including the Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, LA Lakers and New York Knicks,” the official statement dated October 30 reads, while also showcasing a variety of apparel more later: “And you can expect a full retail product line with t-shirts, hoodies, etc. (with additional teams) in the coming months.”

“My Hero Academia – My Hero Academia x NBA New York Knicks x Hyperfly All Might SS” T-shirt, “My Hero Academia – My Hero Academia x NBA Los Angeles Lakers x Hyperfly All Might SS T-shirt”, “My Hero Academia – My Hero Academia x NBA Chicago Bulls x Hyperfly All Might SS T-shirt” and “My Hero Academia – My Hero Academia x NBA Golden State Warriors x Hyperfly All Might SS T-shirt” are both priced at $64.99 and available for purchase Directly from the Crunchyroll Store. All shirts come in sizes S, M, L, XL, 2XL and ship for free in the US. According to the store’s description, they are all officially licensed, 100% cotton, styled with a Jedi Street shoulder cut. T-shirts have a combination of English and Japanese text.

This My Hero Academia collaboration was first announced in July 2023 with a SMASH-themed poster featuring protagonist All Might. Hyperfly president and co-founder Pascal Pakter praised the anime’s influence and value, saying: “My Hero Academia’s inspiring story of heroism, teamwork and perseverance resonates. with the NBA’s core values, making this partnership a natural fit.” My Hero Academia’s previous collaborations with other brands include Fortnite and Sanrio, the latter of which saw MHA characters team up with iconic characters like Hello Kitty.

The My Hero Academia anime adapts the manga of the same name by Kohei Horikoshi and debuted on JNN in Japan in April 2016. Studio Bones will animate the series and will return for Season 7 as well as a fourth film . The most recent season 6 of the anime ended in March 2023 after 25 episodes. All six seasons of the anime are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
