The Mage release date is approaching, and developer Riot Games may be preparing something mystical for Valorant’s 21st Agent.
Valorant players have mostly understood Fade and her impact on the game’s meta since its release in late April. However, despite that, Fade is still stable in both rank and play. pro, it’s time for fans to look ahead and prepare for a new appearance with the debut of Agent Mage.
But don’t be fooled by the name, because after all, Mage is simply the codename of the new agent – at least according to reputable leaker ValorLeaks. Judging by past agents, the codename of the 21st agent in Valorant most likely hints at the skill set he possessed when he was brought into Valorant.
Recently, a screenshot of Valorant’s beta seems to give us our first look at Mage’s kit. It is known that this photo started appearing on MXH on August 25 and was quickly shared widely on many media channels about Valorant.
Here’s the full list of supposed skills for this promising new agent, who could potentially take on the role of Controller in this game based on his skill set:
Bubble (E): Turn the bubble ON and staged to put the bubble down by pressing the skill key. Activate to create an impenetrable bubble. Bullets can’t penetrate.Tartarus Pit (Q): EQUIP a Tartarus charger. FIRE to launch a shot that deals some damage and slows players in its area.Vision Taker (C): EQUIP a distortion wall launcher. FIRE to create a small deformed line. Enemies will be briefly blinded if they pass. Golem (X): EQUIP the Golem doll. FIRE to throw down. All allies will receive a healing buff and enemies will receive a decay debuff.
Mage’s abilities Bubble, Tartarus Pit, and Vision Taker are like a mix between Omen and Astra’s skill sets, with items that can be used across the map and blinded opponents. Depending on the size of the Golem ultimate, it can have a big impact in post-plant situations on either the defending side or the offensive side.
Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but the addition of a new Controller agent makes the most sense as there are only four on the current roster, compared to five Initiators and six Duelists. A new agent likely won’t be in the game until the next Act begins, at least until October 2022.
