Riho Sugiyama, Aoi Yūki to voice Duke of Buckingham, Joan of Arc in January anime
Kodoani.com – The official website for the anime adaptation of Aya Kanno’s manga Requiem of the Rose King (Bara-O No Sōretsu) began streaming a new trailer for the anime on Friday. The video reveals the two new cast members, and also reveals the opening song “Ware, Bara ni Insu” (I’m Obssessed With Roses) by Makoto Furukawa. The website has also revealed a new visual for the anime.
The new voice cast includes:
Riho Sugiyama as Henry Stafford, Duke of Buckingham (Sugiyama will voice the character only for the first half of the anime, with another unannounced voice actor in the second half)
Aoi Yūki as Joan of Arc, the Wizard of France who appears as a spirit to Richard
The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto on January 9, and on BS11 on January 11.
The anime will air in two consecutive waves (quarters of the year), for half a year in a row. Previously, the anime was scheduled to premiere this fall, but the production committee announced the postponement in July.

Kentarō Suzuki (Angels of Death, Kud Wafter) is the anime director at JC Staff, and Hiroki Uchida (Days of Urashimasakatasen, Gamers !, Merc Storia: The Apathetic Boy and the Girl in a Bottle) is supervising and writing the script. story series. The manga story is adapted from Shakespeare’s Richard III. Viz Media licensed the manga and it describes the story:

Kanno (Otomen) launched Requiem of the Rose King in Akita Shoten’s monthly Princess magazine in October 2013, and the series is slated to end in three chapters. An adaptation of Yō Makusu’s novel will be released on December 15.
Kineko Abekawa launched a spin-off manga titled King of Idol Bara-Ō no Gakuen (King of Idol Rose King Academy) in Monthly Princess on January 4.
