Outer Worlds developer Obsidian Entertainment may have a lot of information for fans at the Xbox Bethesda Showcase, according to an employee’s recent tweet.
Obsidian Entertainment is a highly regarded development team among the studios specializing in the development of role-playing games. Founded in 2003, the company has gone on to create a number of extremely well-received games, such as Fallout: New Vegas, even more than a decade after its release that is considered one of the best. The best in the Fallout series. Obsidian has spawned a number of other popular titles since Fallout: New Vegas, with its most recent release being Grounded, an interesting title that was clearly inspired by Honey I Shrunk the Kids.
Now, it looks like Obsidian isn’t far from announcing a new reveal, as one of their employees posted a possibly tweet about a new game from the company. The person said it would be “awesome to finally be able to share what I’ve been doing for the past two years”. This was followed by a reply from Studio design director Josh Sawyer, who commented on a “prayer” emoji.
Given that the person who posted the first tweet was working on The Outer Worlds, they were probably referencing The Outer Worlds 2. However, when that game was first revealed, Obsidian made sure to live up to the expectations. fans by saying it’s not ready for release or even gameplay reveal. There are plenty of other projects that Obsidian could be working on to showcase to fans.
For example, Pentinent is a game that has leaked some details in 2021 and could be announced this year. The Pentinent is said to be inspired by the Disco Elysium and will have players essentially working as a detective to solve mysteries. There’s also Avowed – a new fantasy RPG from Obsidian set in the same universe as the Pillars of Eternity games, which was revealed last year and may be ready to roll or even is another game.
It seems very likely that no matter what Obsidian decides to recommend, that the trailers will be played at the Xbox and Bethesda rollout in late June. Considering Obsidian is part of Xbox Game Studios , it would make sense for the developer to reveal his new game at the parent company’s showcase. Given Obsidian’s reputation, their new game will certainly bolster the weight of the revelations at Xbox and Bethesda’s show.
