The fight against Kaido and Big Mom takes a hopeful turn in One Piece Chapter 1015.
Chapter 1015 of One Piece begins after Kaido declares that Luffy was defeated in battle and is now under the sea. Kaido is currently hunting for Momonosuke, but Kin’emon manages to fend off him long enough for the Shinobi to escape with the boy, who seems to be hearing a new voice in his head. Nami and Usopp were saved by Captain Kid and managed to get Tama to safety after being beaten by Ulti. In turn, Ulti was removed by Big Mom for hitting the child. Chopper is having a hard time fighting the Queen, with Perospero firing wave after wave of arrows. Sanji did his best to heal Zolo, and is currently carrying him across the battlefield until he can go to Chopper for treatment. With Luffy’s disappearance, so did the morale of everyone on the battlefield.
The chapter opens with Chopper and the others in the midst of battle, but things are starting to look bad for the Straw Hats. With the announcement of Luffy’s defeat at the hands of Kaido, hope begins to wane and the villains begin to gain the upper hand. “So, is it pointless to keep fighting?!” someone asked. Chopper lets his emotions better, creating opportunities for Queen and Perospero. Queen reveals that he didn’t use his full power against Chopper, stating that he just wanted to play the game. Now, playtime was over, and he gave his all, bringing Chopper to his knees. Perospero unleashes a barrage of arrows at the samurai, while Queen prepares to finish off Chopper with one last chomp. There’s nowhere for the samurai to run, and it looks like Perospero’
A Straw Hat didn’t let the news get to him, and Sanji managed to block the Queen’s bite attack with a Rotisserie Strike. The kick was strong enough to make the Queen spin, thereby deflecting the arrows before they reached the samurai. Sanji complimented Chopper on how well he fought, but Chopper’s heart broke at the loss of his captain. Sanji chastises him, asking, “After all this time we’ve been together, how many miracles have you seen?” This seems to strike a chord with Chopper. The chef entrusted Zolo to Chopper for proper medical treatment and quipped about Zolo’s 10x strength when fully recovered, though the swordsman quickly corrected the number to two thousand. Sanji steps onto the plate to face the Queen, who recognizes him as Judge’s son.
Meanwhile, Kaido is stalking an injured Kin’emon who is trying to fend off the lord while the Shinobi escapes with Momonosuke. He reminisced about his relationship with the boy when Kaido thrust his blade into the weakened body of his subordinate. Kaido then turned to follow Shinobi and Momonosuke. What no one realized was that Momonosuke was able to grab one of the Marys, a small frog. He uses it to announce that he is Kozuki Momonosuke, and that he has a message from Luffy. He says that Luffy is still alive and that the hero intends to return to the battle. He urged people to keep fighting and not give up hope. Luffy is seen sinking to the bottom of the sea, but he sends a mental message to the young lord that he will defeat Kaido. Momonosuke’s message revived the fighters, breathing new life into their endeavors.
As his message reached everyone, Luffy was discovered by the Heart Pirates in their submarine. They scramble to save the Straw Hat captain, wondering if he’s still alive. Big Mom scoffed at Luffy’s encouragement, claiming it was just a hoax by Momo in an attempt to keep spirits up. As Nami, Usopp, and Tama fled, Nami’s Climate Baton suddenly seemed to have the ability to speak, saying that it’s good that Luffy is still alive. It also has a face that closely resembles that of the dead Zeus, who died to protect them from Big Mom and whose soul was given to Hera.
The chapter ends with Trafalgar approaching Kid, who thinks Trafalgar just wants to interfere in the war, and offers to ally with him to fight Big Mom. Yamato confronts Kaido, calling him by his first name. He corrects him, but Yamato states that he intends to cut those chains, implying that he intends to fight his father to the death in Luffy’s absence.
