The fight against Maria pushes Robin to extreme actions, and Momonosuke makes an unchangeable request.
The battle between Kaido and Yamato becomes intense when Kaido reveals more about his son’s Devil Fruit: Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi-No-Makami. The Devil Fruit is modeled as a patron saint of Wano Country. Kaido explains to Yamato that as the embodiment of the wolf, he should protect the country in his father’s name. Yamato, however, opposes this, saying it is not like that. Kaido continued, saying that he wanted Yamato to become a shogun and continue the weapons manufacturing business that Orochi was leading under his guidance. Yamato again refused, saying that he wanted to free Wano from his father’s tyranny and open its borders as Oden wished.
Meanwhile, Robin and Brook are engulfed in a mist of illusions at the Banquet Hall. Robin has seen pictures of her mother, Professor Clover and Saul, and for a moment we believe she’s fallen for the trap. However, she destroys the illusion with her attack Tres Mano Freesia, revealing that her loved ones are actually followers of Black Maria, who are still pursuing the two Straw Hats. Robin asks Brook why the fog doesn’t affect him, to which he explains that years of wishing his friends never died has made him accustomed to the pain of illusions. Black Maria burns the floor with her Wanyudo weapon as she taunts Robin. Brook finds out that the wheel is being powered by a human-faced dog, and uses his Cold Soul to freeze it. Maria continues to taunt Robin, saying that Sanji is willing to lead her into his trap, but Robin denies this. She then reveals her new ultimate: Gigante Fleur. At Tokage Port, Momonosuke told Luffy about what had happened up until that point, and Luffy asked him to bring him back to Onigashima in his dragon form. What the party doesn’t know, however, is that they are being watched from the sidelines by Caribou.
We return to the battle between Black Maria and Robin, with Black Maria once again mocking the Straw Hats. “Wow, are you mad?” She notes that the size of Robin’s Gigante Fleur must have made her tired, but Robin warns her otherwise. She then hurls many of her giant arms at Maria, calling the attack “Sea Serpent Snapdragon.” The arm clung to Maria and it looked like the last one was about to crush her head, but she swung what was left of Wanyudo and blocked the arm. The pain still affects Robin and Maria knows this. As Maria spun around Robin’s giant arm, Robin noticed poison dripping from Maria’s spider’s legs.
Maria traps the giant clone of Robin in her network with her Marianette Mariapplusive attack. She tells Robin that she is a warrior who shows no mercy, even to women when she seduces her. Using her Orian Knuckles, she punches the clone in the face, damaging Robin Prime in the process. Robin once again tried to grab her with his clone of his arm, but Maria used her web to create a Maricade barricade. The Tobi Roppo members then informed Robin that the flames were highly flammable before the spider face on her stomach used fire breath to ignite them. Maria begins to verbally provoke Robin again when she sees the spider webs around her burning. Maria asks her if she needs Brook to once again put out the fire she’s caused, attracting the skeleton’s attention and reprimand.
Robin has visions of the past, with Koala and Sabo offering to teach her how to throw a punch. Hack informs them both that Robin is strong and knows how to take care of herself. Robin smiles and says that Koala and Sabo can teach her palm strokes if they insist, and they enthusiastically agree. In the present, she thinks about how useful palm strokes are, then recalls the lessons her friends have taught her. She then launches a new attack towards the ceiling: Mil Fleur, the Karate Giganteum Mermaid. The ceiling crumbled around Maria and caught fire. However, this is merely a diversion.
Maria looked up to see Robin in her demon form: Demonio Fleur. Robin tells her that she can be a demon if she has to help those who rely on her. She summons more arms to grab Maria, then uses her head to wrestle Maria’s head and her arms to hold the spider’s legs. Maria let out one last scream as a sick sound came from her body. It was so loud that her followers could hear it from their location. Brook blocked their view with blocks of ice, but a few managed to see through a gap and catch a glimpse of Maria on the ground, with Robin dimly staring at her in demonic form. While they were distracted, Brook finished them off with one final attack. He rushed to Robin, who had reverted to her human form, exhausted from her transformation.
Back with Luffy’s group, Caribou revealed himself and even gave Luffy the meat he so desperately craved. The people around were asking him for information about the battle above, but his mouth was full of words that couldn’t be understood. Outside of the group, Momonosuke and Shinobu were having a private conversation. Shinobu punishes Momo for asking too much of a request and refuses to help him return to Onigashima. Adamant Momo, Shinobu replied that the impact of the request could not be undone. Momonosuke persists, saying it can help him transform into a giant dragon. The chapter closes when Momonosuke insists that Shinobu use the Ripening Technique to transform into an adult.
