As a shipwright of the Straw Hat Pirates and a cyborg with impressive skills, Franky also has some obvious weaknesses in One Piece.
Originally known as Cutty Flam, Franky is the shipwright of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece. As a cyborg, he brings much-needed convenience to a tech-blind pirate crew. Franky is the creator of the Thousand Sunny.
Since being introduced at Water 7, Franky has been a very cool character. He is the shipwright of the Straw Hats and a formidable cyborg with many impressive skills. Despite his strengths, Franky clearly has some weaknesses as well.
As a cyborg, Franky “runs” on both cola and food to sustain himself. His need for cola is particularly important, as it is responsible for powering most of Franky’s abilities, such as the cannon as a weapon.
As a result, he suffers from a lack of stamina, unlike other characters like Luffy or Zoro, who can fight for hours or even days at once. Worse still, trying to power up Franky with anything other than cola could completely change his personality, and force Franky to leave the fight quickly.
Franky is sometimes easily moved by guilt. When he encountered the Tontatta elves and heard about their plight, he was immediately ready to help everyone, even though the Tontatta elves nearly executed Usopp with Robin.
While Franky’s personality isn’t usually something of a big deal, it becomes a big deal whenever he tries to present himself as a tough character. Franky’s personality change shows that this member of the Straw Hat Pirates is very insightful.
Although Franky is usually one of the more serious characters compared to the other members, in some cases he is even more childish than Luffy. Franky even installed lights on his chest to disorient his opponents!
In addition, he also turned himself into a human toy after the timeskip. Anyone who presses on his nose can change Franky’s hairstyle, from casual to goofy like a cannonball. His jokes can amuse people like Zoro or Nami.
You may be too reckless for your own sake
There are several instances where Franky’s confidence is at issue. After Puffing Tom was sentenced to death, he tried to protect his master, but was run over by a train, and Franky was presumed dead.
Although he miraculously survived that time, Franky’s body was in trouble, to the point where he had no choice but to become a cyborg in order to move on with his life. Fortunately, this change of Franky helped him avenge his master, years later during the battle at Enies Lobby.
