In the popular manga series One Piece, in defense, Yamato is stronger, and Roronoa Zoro is stronger in attack, is this true?
In the One Piece series, in terms of defense, Yamato is better, and Zoro is stronger in attack?
Roronoa Zoro is often considered the second strongest character in the Straw Hats. This was even true in the Wano Country, where he continued to fight against the second strongest of the Beasts, King.
Yamato has wanted to join the Straw Hats since chapter 1051. For example, if she was accepted to join, would Zoro or Yamato be stronger in the Straw Hats? Here is the analysis!
1. Both have Conqueror Haki
Zoro and Yamato both possess Conqueror Haki. Not only that, both can cover their attacks with it.
This makes both Zoro and Yamato a great threat to their enemies. Due to covering attacks with Conqueror Haki, their destructive power is terrifying!
2. Yamato’s defense might be stronger than Zoro
In terms of defense and endurance, I think Yamato surpasses Zoro. It is true that Zoro’s body clearly possesses quite extraordinary endurance. He has proven time and time again that he can continue to fight despite the state of his body being injured.
But what about Yamato? First, she is a mythical Zoan Devil Fruit eater. Therefore, the endurance from Yamato’s body was clearly higher than that of the average person. Her horns alone show us that Yamato and Kaido are probably not normal humans.
In addition, Yamato also has unique defensive techniques thanks to her Devil Fruit powers, such as Kagamiyama in chapter 1025. She was able to fight Kaido one-on-one for quite a long time, confirmed. that in terms of endurance, Yamato is truly extraordinary!
3. Zoro’s destructive ability surpasses Yamato’s?
While Yamato’s Zoan-type Devil Fruit powers give her extraordinary defensive abilities, there are details that suggest Zoro’s destructive power far exceeds Yamato’s. When confronting Kaido, Yamato unleashed a number of powerful attacks, but all of them didn’t seem to surprise him.
The attack that has the most effect on Kaido seems to be at the end of chapter 1025. But it’s not solo, as it was attacked by Yamato with Luffy.
What about Zoro? In chapter 1002, when he used Hiryu: Kaen, Big Mom even warned Kaido. Even she could sense the threat posed by Zoro’s attack.
He then slashed Kaido with the Ashura Bakkei: Moja no Tawamure technique in chapter 1010. This attack even injured him.
Ashura Bakkei: Moja no Tawamure surprised Kaido, and he said that Zoro’s slash would leave a scar. Could it be because Kaido didn’t know before that Zoro had Conqueror Haki, and Yamato he knew for a long time?
However, Zoro’s attack injures Kaido, and he states that it will leave a scar. Before that, another slash that left a scar on Kaido’s body was from Kozuki Oden.
Even then Zoro still has not fully mastered his Conqueror Haki. He only started using it in the middle of the fight against King.
Maybe this is because Zoro uses a sword, while Yamato uses a mace. However, I do see details where Zoro’s destructive ability surpasses that of Yamato’s, even though they both know how to cover attacks with Conqueror Haki.
If he continues to increase his power further, for example by turning his blade black, Zoro’s destructive ability will become even more terrifying.
4. Both are not as strong as the Four Emperors
Zoro can withstand attacks from the two Yonko, Kaido and Big Mom. He can also cut Kaido.
Yamato can fight his father until Luffy returns. However, from what they’ve shown, both Zoro and Yamato can’t seem to do what Luffy did, which is to take down Kaido.
Therefore, I feel that their power level is still below the Yonko. Though it’s possible that the two would surprise Big Mom and Kaido if they had to face these two characters alone.
5. What is the provisional conclusion?
Right now, I feel Zoro and Yamato are pretty even. However, Yamato’s endurance seems to surpass Zoro’s.
Meanwhile for Zoro, his attack’s destructive power clearly surpassed Yamato’s. Zoro can also become scary if he is more proficient in Conqueror Haki. Especially when Zoro figured out how to turn his blade black.
Between Jinbe, Sanji, Zoro and Yamato, comparing them is really not easy. All seem to be equal, each with their own advantages that make them powerful in the Straw Hats.
But since we’re only talking about Zoro and Yamato, if these two are pitted, I think Zoro will be able to take out Yamato. Since he can cut Kaido, Zoro will also be able to successfully cut Yamato.
