Single Challenger with 300 positions has long been the pride of every League of Legends server in the world, but in Vietnam this is not really true.
Since the concept of MOBA game appeared, along with the widespread popularity of League of Legends, the Single Challenger rank has always been the goal that every player in the Vietnamese LoL community in general and the world in particular is aiming for. The Singles Challenger tier not only symbolizes fame in the community, but it is also a transit station bringing many young talents to the professional arena. However, over the course of development, the Single Challenger level at the Vietnam server gradually lost its reference to the level or fame it was supposed to have. To find out about this, Game4V chatted with a player who scored 1300 in Singles Challenge. Because the conversation contained a lot of “sensitive” information, it was easy to lose heart, so the interviewer asked for permission to keep his identity confidential:
Reporter: Hi, can you briefly introduce your LoL “journey” to Game4V readers?
Hello Game4V readers, I’ve been coming to League of Legends since season 2 and have been playing until now. My forte position is top lane, but in recent seasons, most of me has gone to the jungle to make it easier to rank up. As for the champion, I can’t reveal it because the single Challenger rank is too small, if I say the champion is in the top Challenge, people will recognize me right away (Laughs).
Reporter: As someone who has been “eating and sleeping” at Singles Challenger for many years, how do you rate the quality of this rank at the moment?
LoL today has changed a lot from the time I started playing, the peak time was in the period 2014-2017 when the Vietnamese rank was really quality with many real players, climbing the rank was very exciting. But now, when the Challenger level changes and there are 300 Vietnamese rank positions, it gradually loses its quality. Especially in the last 2 seasons, the Single Challenger level has become a battlefield for the 3 “powers” to plow, buff elo and tool. The players and players who actually played to win them all moved to the Korean server, because now owning an account in the LCK region is not as difficult as before.
Reporter: You talk about the 3 “powers” that are affecting the Singles Challenger tier, so what percentage of the 300 positions do you think these components account for?
If you have to divide it by percentage, it will roughly have the following numbers: 30% of players have skills, 35% are guest accounts that are plowed up, 18% are shop acc accounts, 2% use tools. Only 15% of “passers” go to Challenger Singles for a few days and then drop Dai Cao again. The 15% of players that go up and down there I think are real players, really here they play on their own and progress can go to Single Challenge but not enough to keep rank, just like flowers that grow naturally in the forest not the cultured type. There are 30% of people who have qualified to upgrade them at another level including players and people who work as plowing services, rank them much higher than 15%, want to keep their rank or climb to the top of Challenger. The familiar type who can manipulate the Challenger tier easily is not a spontaneous player like the 15% group.
Reporter: According to your description and list, the Single Challenger level is very chaotic, can you explain more for Game4V readers to better understand the cause of this “chaos”?
The reasons are many, but there are 3 main points, but I say that currently the Korean server is too accessible, so high level players have no reason to stay on the Vietnamese server to practice. Those who cannot play in Korea, they also buy a Chinese account (LPL) to play. The second reason is that now there are many “big” players, they have the need to collect the Challenger expressions, this frame for their VIP account as much as possible, so they are willing to spend money to be in the competition. The 300 positions of the Single Challenger tier are also easy to understand. Some people even buy Dynamic Fighting Challenges for the entire collection. The last reason is that the current acc market is also very potential, especially the single challenger accounts are hunted a lot, the trading speed is very fast, usually these accounts only take 1-2 days to sell. . So many players or shop owners defy the trick of pushing the acc to Challenger in many ways including buffing the elo and using the tool and then reselling the acc for profit. Those who do not study carefully buying these accounts are considered unlucky to lose money and acc, because they can be banned at any time.
Reporter: Can you explain more about why single challenger accounts are popular?
Not only the single Challenge account, but the Diamond 1, Master or Dai Cao accounts are also very expensive. The main reason is also because the demand for plowing is too great, many people doing the service they will buy to “buff elo” to help the plow speed faster to ensure the delivery of the account to the customer on time. Instead of an intense game that can take more than 30 minutes, if you can successfully “buff elo”, the game will take less than 20 minutes.
Reporter: As a “gatekeeper” player and naturally plow through the level to reach Singles Challenge, do you have any advice for the “15 percent group” I mentioned above?
The advice is, as I mentioned in the first answer, prioritize the jungle position. Playing well in this position is the fastest way to climb the rank from Master and above. Since most players are already qualified, if you play the jungle well and help them get an early advantage, they’ll make full use of it and end the game early.
Reporter: In the group of 30% you mentioned players and professionals. In your opinion, is there a big difference between players and hires?
In my opinion, each side will have its own advantages, the players who are players, they move or go lane are very tactical. Especially the calmness, in this gameplay, it is difficult for normal players to get, it takes time to practice. Often playing with players, if they already have the advantage in lane, it will be difficult to flip the bet. However, the disadvantage of players is that they often don’t communicate, I won’t say it all here, but obviously many players have a very high ego like they think they are different from amateur players no matter how high or low they rank. . So in the match when facing a difficult situation or having to suffer a little loss for the winning team, the players usually do not give up.
Single Challenger always needs decisive teamfights
For other players who plowed and hired again, due to their long-term experience in climbing ranks, they were forced to climb for a limited time to promptly hand over customers. So they are very sensitive in evaluating teammates and opponents, when they are in the match, sometimes they remember the nick name to know how that person plays, whether to invest in ganking or not. Thanks to that, the player who has been hired has a better approach to the game than the player, in addition, in many situations where the longtime player understands the need to rush to create mutations for the team, they will rush up very decisively. Thanks to that, many matches turned defeat into narrow victories.
Reporter: Last question, can you share a few “secrets” at low rank for Game4V readers?
For low rank climbing, sincere advice is that you should have someone to play with, if you are alone in the current chaotic ranked mode, it will be very difficult to rank up. Because most of the match, you will be playing against players who are much higher than you (plow for hire) or players who are very poor. Having 2 strong players in key positions like Jungle or Mid, Top lane will greatly increase your chances of winning. In addition, do not change positions every game, be persistent in playing a fixed position that will help you to improve more easily. Playing for a long time, you will have both the sensitivity of the plowman and the composure of the player because you have a lot of experience to know how to handle the situation.
Game4V would like to thank you for the interesting information related to the Challenger level and useful advice to readers. Wishing you good health and success with your future plans.
