The guy doesn’t have much longer to live, and vows to do some good for the world before his time comes.
Saki and Mirai welcome their new ally into Saki’s room after the angel Nesse confirms he is telling the truth, and the man, Nanato Mukaido, explains himself. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer 3 months ago and he gave up his life, leaving behind a young child and pregnant wife. Then an angel approached him and signed him up for the battle royale in heaven. Now, Nanato seeks to take down Metropoliman at any cost, as he can’t stand the idea of his family living in a world where Metropoliman is God. Mirai and Saki welcome Nanato to the team, but they correct him at several points.
Mirai, who longs for a normal happy and peaceful life, has learned that taking her own life won’t do any good. He urges Nanato to cherish his life and not give it up, mainly for the sake of his family. Nanato agrees to live as long as possible and uses that time to tilt the battle in favor of Mirai and Saki against the Metropoliman. Nanato left the meeting in better spirits than when he arrived, and it was clear that Mirai and Saki’s sincere words were conveyed to him. Nanato became Mirai’s strongest ally and just in time.
One afternoon, Nanato joined Mirai and Saki for a strategy meeting, and he once again made it clear how he had thought of this. Nanato, despite her bleak attitude, worked hard to find all the other God candidates and devise a perfect plan. He revealed that he recently sent reporters, investigators, and psychoanalysts to identify God’s candidates in Jinbo Stadium during the Metropoliman battle there. He also carefully notes the name, guardian angel, and special ability of each candidate. This information may aid Mirai and Saki in their future efforts against Metropoliman.
Nanato proves her worth with another lead role and shares a photo of another God candidate with Mirai and Saki so they can investigate him. However, Metropoliman has proven just how resourceful and manipulative he can be. Mirai has already cut her work for him, and Nanato may not have a white arrow at her disposal. Otherwise, Mirai may have to use force to confront Metropoliman in the near future, and Nanato can only do so much to help. Then there’s the matter of “Girl A” on the news, who is apparently acting with new angelic powers, possibly given to her by Metropoliman herself. This is a mystery for Nanato to unravel with Mirai and Saki during his last remaining days on Earth.
