Kodoani.com – Director Jim Ryan of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced last week that the console PlayStation 5 passed the 40 million sales mark as of July 16.
As of July 2021, Sony has sold over 10 million PS5 consoles worldwide since launch, making the PS5 Sony’s best-selling console. Sony has sold more than 20 million PS5 units worldwide as of June 2022. PS5 sales surpassed 30 million units in January.
Ryan announced at the company’s CES 2023 presentation in January that “It will be much easier for everyone who wants a PS5 to find one at retailers around the globe, starting at this onward”.
PS5 launches in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea on November 12, 2020. PS5 launches in most of the rest of the world on November 19, 2020. .
The company launched the PlayStation VR2, the new virtual reality (VR) system for the PS5, on February 22.
