Manga creator Synecdoche revealed on Twitter on Wednesday that Akita Shoten will now publish the manga Plus-Sized Elf (Elf-san wa Yaserarenai.) With the volumes compiled under the publisher’s Young Champion Comics label. The manga’s eighth volume will ship on November 19.
The manga is still on hiatus for half a year, and Synecdoche has said that it will reveal details about the manga’s return in bulk at a later date.
The manga went on hiatus in May to change publishers.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga and it describes the story:
Naoe-kun, a massage therapist, is about to go home one day when he is tied up with a rather strange patient. This lovely lady has emerald eyes, pointy ears, and grew up in the woods – everything about her calls her “ELF”, except for one thing: her muscular body. It turns out that she has left her world but loves junk food in this world, and now her obsession has taken hold of her. Can Naoe-kun help this adorable elf girl lose weight – and stay in shape?
Synecdoche launched the ongoing manga on Wani Books’ Gum Comic website in December 2016, and Wani Books published seven volumes in May 2020. Synecdoche previously stated that the manga would continue for ‘just one. a little more.’
