Ryōta Suzuki, Shimba Tsuchiya, Kana Hanazawa co-star with songs by Riko Azuna, nonoc
The official website for the television anime adaptation of the Miko Yasu manga is Police in a Pod (Hakozume: Kōban Joshi no Gyakushū ) posted the anime’s first full promotional video on Friday. The English-subtitled video announces additional cast and staff, as well as the January 2022 premiere of the anime. The website also publishes the title track name and artist.
The newly announced cast members are:
Ryōta Suzuki as Seiji Minamoto, interrogating whiz Shimba Tsuchiya as Takeshi Yamada, the young detective who is Seiji Kana Hanazawa’s partner as Miwa Makitaka

The story focuses on policewoman Kawai, who has enough careers that she doesn’t even love. She was about to resign when the unthinkable happened – she met the new female director of her station! And after spending a little time with this gorgeous model, Kawai realized that she might not be done as an officer after all.

Yuzo Sato (The Gokusen, Kaiji) is the anime director at Madhouse, and Ryunosuke Kingetsu (Ninja Nonsense, Samurai Girls) is in charge of the series scripts. Kei Tsuchiya (Laidbackers, Shōnen Hollywood – Holly Stage for 49) is designing the characters.
Yasu launched the manga in Kodansha’s Morning magazine in November 2017, and Kodansha published the manga’s 17th compiled book volume in June. The series has 2.3 million copies in circulation. Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in English. The manga was nominated for the 66th Shogakukan Manga Awards last year and the 45th Annual Kodansha Manga Awards this year. The manga also ranked 22nd on Da Vinci Magazine’s most recent manga chart for “Book of the Year.”
The manga inspired a live-action television series that premiered on July 7 and ended in September.
