The leader of the Cinema Department has sent an official request to Netflix to remove the movie Flight to you because of the image of the cow’s tongue line.
On the afternoon of July 9, Mr. Do Quoc Viet, Deputy Director of the Cinema Department signed official letter No. 870/DA-VP to Netflix Company; Official letter No. 871/ĐA-VP sent to FPT Telecom Joint Stock Company with the content requesting to remove the movie Flight to you (Vietnamese title: The direction of the wind).
According to the Deputy Director of the Cinema Department, the Cinema Department has conducted a review of 39 episodes of The direction of the wind. After checking, the Bureau discovered that the cow’s tongue line appeared on the map in many movie scenes.
In episodes 18, 19, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 38; In episode 30, the image of the cow’s tongue line appeared clearly from 2 minutes to 2 minutes 3 seconds. Notably, from 41 minutes 18 seconds to 41 minutes 55 seconds of episode 18, there are lines and subtitles “One day this map will go to many places in the world”.
“The representation of the image of the cow’s tongue line and the content in the dialogue and subtitles as mentioned above in the film is incorrect, infringes on Vietnam’s national sovereignty and violates the provisions of point d, clause 1, Article 9 of the Law on Cinema No. 05/2022/QH15”, official dispatch No. 870/DA-VP stated.
In the official letter sent to FPT Telecom Joint Stock Company, the Cinema Department said that it received information about FPT Telecom’s dissemination of the movie “The direction of the wind” (39 episodes) on cyberspace via the address: domain name https://fptplay.vn and FPT Play application to users in Vietnam. In it, the content of the movie The direction of the wind has the image of the illegal cow’s tongue line.
The results of reviewing and checking the content of the movie The direction of the wind (39 episodes) is popular in cyberspace at the domain name https://fptplay.vn and the FPT Play application shows that the Joint Stock Company FPT Telecom has blurred the map image in many scenes of the movie The direction of the wind (in episodes 18, 19, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 30, 38). .
However, the Cinema Department affirmed that this is a film with inappropriate content, infringing on Vietnam’s national sovereignty, so it is not suitable for dissemination in Vietnam.
The Cinema Department requested Netflix Company to remove the movie The Wind Goes at the domain address https://www.netflix.com and the Netflix application; request FPT Telecommunications Joint Stock Company to remove the movie The direction of the wind goes at the domain name https://fptplay.vn and the FPT Play application.
The implementation time is within 24 hours from 0:00 on July 10, and a written report on the implementation results must be sent to the Cinema Department before July 12, 2023.
Previously, the audience discovered in episode 30 of the movie Flight to you (Vietnamese title: The direction of the wind), the image of the cow’s tongue line appeared on the map at the 2nd minute. The footage revolved around the incident on the camera. When a passenger suddenly fell ill, flight 805 of Luzhou Airlines had to ask for an order to fly directly to the nearest airport.
On FPT Play, the scene has a blurred image of the cow’s tongue line. However, on Netflix and some other online movie viewing platforms, the map image with the cow’s tongue line is still displayed.
