A remake of Resident Evil 4 is coming, and while there’s no official word from Capcom yet, it looks like the game might be coming to Xbox One.
Resident Evil 4 is scheduled to release on March 24, 2023, for PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
An Xbox One version of Resident Evil 4 Remake has been listed on Amazon, suggesting the upcoming game will arrive on this older generation console. This remake of the beloved 2005 survival title is easily considered one of the most anticipated upcoming horror games, similar to The Callisto Protocol and the Dead Space remake. It’s still a few months away, but many people are certainly excited to be able to play this modernized version of one of the most popular installments in the long-running Capcom series.
While Resident Evil Remake was confirmed for PS4 recently, there is no word yet on whether it will come to Microsoft systems. The studio didn’t mention Xbox One and given that the game is coming to the Xbox Series and is obviously compatible with older consoles, fans aren’t sure why Capcom hasn’t made any official announcements about it yet. the game will be released before that.
That’s according to a listing recently spotted on the UK version of Amazon. A user on Reddit posted a link showing that Resident Evil 4 is available to pre-order for Xbox One, with it being released on March 24, 2023. It’s interesting, though it certainly looks like it’s coming to the older Xbox, but the product’s description doesn’t list the game coming to Xbox One, despite what the image shows. This listing was discovered a few days ago, so it’s a bit confusing that Capcom didn’t mention anything when this article went live. Some comments on the Reddit thread suggested that it was inevitable that an Xbox One port would launch, especially since the remake doesn’t appear to have an exclusivity deal with Sony.
The description of the release platform of Resident Evil 4 Remake mentions Xbox One.
Just like Deathloop is now coming to Xbox, some might think that RE4 Remake is a timed exclusivity to PS4 and PS5. However, since it was revealed to be coming to the Xbox Series, this seems unlikely. In any case, the listing on Amazon UK strongly suggests it’s coming to Xbox One, and Capcom has yet to say anything.
Aside from that, fans are anticipating the upcoming Shadows of Rose DLC for Resident Evil Village, due out on October 28. With this and the upcoming remake, now seems like the right time. to be an RE fan, and it shows that this iconic brand still has a lot of life in it.
