A trusted insider says Respawn Entertainment is developing a secret FPS title with a focus on portability and style.
Respawn Entertainment has proven itself to be one of the best development studios in the gaming industry over the years. Since releasing the first Titanfall title in 2014, the studio has released numerous games that are loved by both fan and critical communities, with both Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Apex Legends being successful. brilliant work. While Apex Legends continues to receive regular updates and a Jedi: Fallen Order sequel is also said to be in development, Respawn is said to be working on another secret third game. A new rumor has shed some light on this secret game currently in development.
More specifically, industry insider Jeff Grubb has stated that Respawn is working on a first-person shooter AAA title. It will focus heavily on “portability” and “style,” but it’s clearly unrelated to the Titanfall franchise. He mentioned that Mohammad Alavi, best known for the popular No Russian stage in Modern Warfare 2, was the creative director of the title before leaving the company. While all rumors should be used as a reference only, Grubb has a track record of leaks in the gaming industry with great accuracy.
This game seems to be in the early stages of development and Respawn has no intention of canceling the project even though director Mohammad Alavi is no longer at the studio. According to Grubb, EA is expected to launch the game in 2024 or 2025, of which about a year will be spent developing prototypes. Respawn will continue to work on Apex Legends and the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel alongside this third game.
It looks like this new IP is the spiritual successor to Titanfall as both are first-person shooter AAA games designed around portability. Quite a few gamers have wanted to see Respawn develop a new Titanfall game, but a new franchise that inherits the advantages of Titanfall seems to be the best that gamers can expect. Also this new project is said to be a single-player-only title, while the Titanfall games are heavily focused on multiplayer.
Respawn Entertainment fans seem to have a lot to look forward to in the years to come. Apex Legends is currently in Season 11 and rumor has it that EA plans to announce Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 sometime before the E3 event. Jedi: Fallen Order 2 is one of many Star Wars games currently in development and will likely release sometime later this year or into 2023.
