Riot Games explained the thinking behind the redesign in a release: “As Riot enters its second decade, we felt the time was right to update and expand its visuals system. Riot Games to help us achieve lasting success.
The change to the logo is the result of building a more cohesive visual system that includes the creation of additional unique content that will help players recognize the company more easily.

Thereafter, the expanded Riot Games branding system will also be implemented across Riot products throughout 2022. While the visual elements have been updated, our mission or goals will not. change, that is to actively build the most player-oriented game company in the world, and at the same time make yourself a better player,” – the announcement said.

The new logo will be followed by a rebranding effort slated to take place in 2022, but it remains unclear if the rebranding will affect existing Riot IP logos.
