According to “traditional”, Riot Games will open voting and organize the All-Star tournament as an entertainment event for fans and international Esports players. However, recently Riot Games has launched a completely new event called Season Kickoff (roughly translated: Kick off the season).
In the first time this event is held, it will take place on January 10-11, 2023. At that time, the LCS, LEC, LCK, LPL, LJL, CBLOL, LLA, PCS and VCS regions will hold a 2-day broadcast event to explore the 2023 season. From there, introduce them to the fan community. Season Kickoff will be the All-Star replacement event:
“While All-Star events have provided players and fans with countless memorable moments over the years, the current All-star schedule is relatively difficult for the players to be voted on. Replacing the All-Star with a Season Kickoff would provide a well-deserved break for the players and an exciting event that regions typically host during this period.” – Riot Games announced.
Accordingly, the Season Kickoff event will be broadcast globally in 2 days, January 10-11, 2023. Based on the “moving house” schedule of Garena and Riot Games, the Vietnam region will be able to follow this new event with the organization of a new team personally managed by Riot.
As for the content, although it has not been revealed more, it is highly likely that this event will be where Riot Games introduces new champions, remastered champions, development roadmap, … of League of Legends in 2023.
