The Weapons Master will carry this heartwarming memory with him throughout his upcoming journey on the Justice Arena.
Appreciation for one of the most special League of Legends fans has become an important part of the story of a Weapon Master Wick, helping him always retain his “soul” even though he was recently reworked more than a year ago. 10 years of waiting. Jax’s Art and Sustainability Update (ASU) finally hit the PBE a week ago. In addition to refreshing the appearance of the most “old-fashioned” champion in League of Legends, Riot Games did not forget to insert touching details that are closely related to the story known to the whole community.
Back in 2012, Riot worked closely with the Make-A-Wish organization with a player named Joe – who was unfortunately suffering from the rare cancer Ewing’s Sarcoma. Because Joe loves Jax the most among the League of Legends champions, Riot used all the proceeds from the sale of the Jaximus (Jax Gladiator) skin to donate to the organization to support his treatment. After Joe passed away, the developers added the famous line to the Jaximus skin, “It’s for you, little guy!” to forever recognize Joe’s passion and love for the game in all circumstances. Through this update, Riot wants to elevate this humane action and make it a line associated with all of Jax’s costumes instead of just associated with Jaximus.
While Jaximus retains that familiar quote, all of Jax’s skins refer to some unnamed child similar to Joe as the hero of the Weapons Master. “The bravest hero I ever knew was a child” – Jax said in a narrative voice when the player took him on a journey. “Here you go, champion!” In particular, Jaximus’s updated biography is now directly linked to Joe, mentioning why Jax chose to wear the gladiator’s armor. It admitted Joe was Jax’s biggest fan as he entered the battle to the death on the Colosseum, declaring the bad boy “far braver than anyone (he) had ever met. ”
It is expected that Jax’s new appearance along with all related costumes, backgrounds and voiceovers will come with the 13.20 update to the official server on October 11. Unfortunately, it was released in a version that has nothing to do with the 2023 World Finals (using 13.19), otherwise global fans would have had quiet moments at the biggest tournament of the year.
