He said that in order to bring the game to as many gamers as possible regardless of skill level, Project L will be a free to play game.
Since being announced in 2019, Project L – one of Riot’s new games, has been forgotten because the developer himself is also silent about the game. In November 2021, they announced the game’s visual style had been changed but there wasn’t much to say. Until now, Riot has returned to announce the latest information about the fighting game based on its League of Legends brand, although its name has yet to be determined.
In the video above, developer Tom Cannon appears to share about Project L and what the development team has been up to over the past few months. He said that in order to bring the game to as many gamers as possible regardless of skill level, Project L will be a free to play game. This should not be a surprise to those who have played Riot games, but it is still something that needs to be confirmed.
Riot also released a new blog post introducing one of the LoL characters that will appear in Project L, Illaoi. This priestess will literally bring her octopus to Project L matches, but with a slightly changed appearance compared to League of Legends by a different camera perspective. Her fighting style will look strong and heavy – something you might already know based on Illaoi’s original image, with its massive totem and muscular body.
Currently, Project L has no official name or specific release date. The game will still need a lot of time before it can be released to world gamers.
