Official Twitter account for Shueisha magazine’s Jump SQ revealed on Thursday manga Rurouni Kenshin : Hokkaido Arc will not appear in the July or August issues of the magazine. The July issue ships on Friday, and the August issue releases on July 2. The manga will return in the September issue, which will go on sale in early August.
Watsuki and his wife novelist/story collaborator Kaoru Kurosaki published the Rurouni Kenshin : Hokkaido Arc (Rurouni Kenshin, Meiji Kenkaku Romantan : Hokkaido-hen) manga in Shueisha , jump SQ magazine. in September 2017. The manga went on hiatus in December 2017 after Watsuki was accused of possessing child pornography. The series was then resumed in June 2018. Shueisha published the manga’s fifth volume on December 4 and will ship the sixth volume on July 2.
Viz Media simultaneously published the manga in English, but stopped after the manga went on hiatus.
Watsuki first launched 28 volumes of the Rurouni Kenshin manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1994. The series has more than 60 million copies in print. The series revolves around Kenshin Himura, once an assassin during the Meiji Restoration, Kemshin is trying to find a new life away from violence. Since then, the manga has inspired a 95-episode television anime series, an anime film, three original anime video projects, five live action, and a musical by the all-girls musical group Takarazuka Revue. The live-action Rurouni Kenshin Saishūshō The Final film opens in Japan on April 23, and the Rurouni Kenshin Saishūshō The Beginning live-action film opens in Japan on Friday.
