With nails more than 13m long after 25 years without cutting, this woman set a new world record for “longest nails”.
Diana Armstrong, 63, from Minnesota, USA has just set a Guinness World Record with 13.06 meters long nails. In which the nail on the right thumb is the longest, about 1.38m, the shortest nail on the little finger is also approximately 1.1m.
It is known that Mrs. Armstrong last cut her nails was in 1997. It all started with a sad story when her daughter Latisha – who often cut her mother’s nails, unfortunately died at the age of 16 because of an injury. asthma. Since then, she never cut her nails again.
“Every time I am about to cut my nails, I think of my daughter. I don’t want to think about that pain anymore. I raised this nail as if my daughter was always by my side,” Ms. Armstrong shared.
However, her too long nails interfered with her life quite a bit. Accordingly, simple actions such as picking things up on the ground, brushing teeth, eating rice, etc. are quite difficult. Ms. Armstrong shared that she could not drive herself, and using public transport was also very inconvenient.
“If I drop a bill on the floor, I have to use my feet to pick it up, if it’s a coin, I’ll die,” Armstrong said.
To take care of her nails, Mrs. Armstrong has to go to Nails 4-5 times a week and needs about 20 bottles of nail polish to cover all of her nails. Sometimes her grandchildren will help her with nail care at home.
Before Armstrong, the record holder for the longest fingernails was Ayanna Williams, of Houston. However, she decided to cut it after 30 years of nurturing.
