Silent Hill is considered by many to be one of the best survival horror series, although the franchise’s subsequent releases have received mixed reception from fans. Just like its rival – the Resident Evil franchise shifted from survival horror to more action-packed gameplay with games like Silent Hill Homecoming and Downpour – something many fans weren’t happy about. As Capcom and Resident Evil return to intense horror gameplay from previous games with releases like Resident Evil 7, Silent Hill has yet to do the same. The Silent Hill series has been dormant for a number of years now, with the last official news of a new title being the canceled Silent Hill reboot in 2015.
As reported by DSOGaming, the developers at Codeless Games are currently working on a remake of the original Silent Hill, reimagined with Unreal Engine 5. In a 10-minute gameplay sequence, a protagonist faces new look Harry Mason is seen searching the dark and dreary hallways of Midwich Elementary, which has seen environments and enemies overhauled with new generation graphics.
The impressive-looking Silent Hill remake is one of a number of fan projects in development using Epic’s latest game engine. Fans have imagined everything from the Skyrim remake in UE5 to another remake in the GTA franchise, with each fan version making full use of the graphics, lighting, shadows, and multiplication models. impressive object thanks to new technology. There’s currently no news on whether an official remake of the original game is currently in the works at Konami, but if it’s true that Bloober is set to announce a new Silent Hill 2, fans might be soon.
