Slitterhead’s studio says the game will span many other genres and will appeal to those who rarely play horror games.
Slitterhead developer Bokeh Studio has shared more details about its upcoming action-horror game. Answer fan questions through media, social networks, community groups. Including CEO and creator of the project Keiichiro Toyama, game director Junya Okura, along with producer Kazunobu Sato gave a few ideas about their new project, they all have expectations. I want Slitterhead to conquer even those who play less horror games.”
“The game is not entirely focused on the horror genre. It spans many genres that a horror game has the right to express. From there, I want to expand to a wider audience of players, including players who don’t usually play horror games.” Toyama said.
“I want a game to be enjoyed in its own right, every concept in the game will not only revolve around killing enemies. But it also has to bring about conflicting battles in their minds, making players reluctant to make their choices at that moment. I want both the action and the drama of the game to be fully satisfied.”
“There’s an aspect of horror that I wanted to include even if the game was more geared towards action,” Okura added. “There are also some slow and fast moments that alternate in the game. I wanted to introduce some of the horror elements into the key sequences slowly to scare players, balancing out the frenetic action moments in the game.”
And for all Silent Hill fans, Toyama doesn’t have any plans for the game yet, but he does want to return to that project someday. “I want to one day do something with some other psychological horror game like I did with Silent Hill,” Toyama said. However, it is difficult at the moment when we work with really limited resources, such as a budget that only allows 1 or 2 projects to be pursued. Currently, we have a pretty good staff. I want to use their skills to prepare for a different direction, you will be surprised soon,” he shared with a laugh. Perhaps fans of Silent Hill and Toyama games will still have to wait a long time, at least until Slitterhead comes out.
