Kodoani.com – Paramount+ posted on Thursday a video about the spinoff series about Knuckles in the series Sonic the Hedgehog. The “Meet the Cast” video features Adam Pally, Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylor, Edi Patterson, Stockard Channing, Cary Elwes and Rory McCann discussing their roles in the series.
The series will premiere on April 26 in the US and Canada on Paramount+ and will have six episodes. The series will air on April 27 in other territories on Paramount+ and will then launch in Japan later this year.
The series was originally scheduled for 2023. The show focuses on the character Knuckles, with Idris Elba taking on the role. Julian Barratt is part of the cast. Rory McCann guest stars. Adam Pally reprises his role as Wade Whipple in the film, and Tika Sumpter also returns as Maddie in a guest role. The film also stars Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel.
The film takes place between the second and third live-action films. In the series, Knuckles trains Wade to become his protégé and teaches him the ways of the Echidna warrior.
The film production team is returning to be in charge of the film. The show's director Jeff Fowler will return to direct the first episode. Ged Wright, Brandon Trost, Jorma Taccone and Carol Banker also directed. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, John Whittington, Toru Nakahara and Elba are credited as executive producers. Whittington also serves as head writer alongside writers Brian Schacter and James Madejski.
The upcoming live-action Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie is expected to be released on December 20.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 opened in the United States in April 2022 and grossed an estimated $26.5 million on its opening day, according to Box Office Mojo.
