Sony has just launched the first official gamepad for iPhone called Backbone One, developed in collaboration with Sony and its own brand Backbone.
Sony has just launched a new gaming product called Backbone One Playstation. Instead of launching a separate service entirely, the company created a new controller that allows users to play PlayStation games on their iPhone. A Backbone One will cost 100 USD (about 2,341,200 VND).
Backbone One is a PlayStation Edition controller that acts like a standalone game streaming service because it requires a high-speed internet connection. Players simply plug their iPhone into a Backbone One controller, using the PlayStation Remote Play app to gain access to PS4 and PS5 games directly from their smartphones.
Backbone One – PlayStation Edition has the same white and black two-tone design as the standard DualSense controller. The layout of the controller remains unchanged, providing dedicated buttons for launching Backbone apps and recording gameplay. It also retains the standard model’s asymmetrical bar layout. At the bottom of the device, users will find a Lightning port and a headphone jack to connect a pair of wired headphones to the iPhone.
As confirmed by Sony, the controller will also work with other games on the App Store and other game streaming services that support the controller. This includes: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Genshin Impact, Fantasian, Call of Duty Mobile…
Most of the more notable changes Backbone has made for PlayStation fans lie in tweaks to the Backbone companion app, which is available to all Backbone One owners. The new standalone mode allows users to use the software without first connecting the controller to the iPhone. That makes it easy for users to find new games to try and chat with friends between sessions. Backbone also adds new PlayStation-specific integrations, including a dedicated row highlighting new releases and updates from Sony.
