After a lengthy teaser, Atlus has finally announced Soul Hackers 2, the sequel to the 25-year-old JRPG Shin Megami Tensei.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner – Soul Hackers (Also known simply as Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers) is the second installment in the Devil Summoner side story line about Shin Megami Tensei. The game is a turn-based role-playing game with elements later found in the hit Persona Q series and features a detective story that follows a group of hackers known as the Spookies set in a Japanese port city. . The game was originally released in Japan on the Sega Saturn in 1997 although it would not receive an English release until 2013, when the game was remade for the Nintendo 3DS.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Atlus announced today that the forgotten Shin Megami Tensei spinoff (which itself is part of the Devil Summoner series) will receive a sequel in the form of Soul Hackers 2, out launching this August for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Like Persona before it, Soul Hackers 2 has the distinction of removing “Shin Megami Tensei” and “Devil Summoner” from its name, separating itself into a separate JRPG series under the leadership of Atlus. This is also a rare game from the publisher that can come to the Xbox system at launch.
Soul Hackers 2 will release on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on August 26, 2022.
Like its predecessor, Soul Hackers 2 is set in a depiction of future Japan and focuses on two opposing factions of Devil Summoner as they engage in war with a supernatural being called a supernatural being. is Aion.
