In Boruto Chapter #57, the robot Eida, may be one of Naruto’s dark spots.
Boruto Chapter #57 introduces the debut of Eida, a character that was revealed in the previous chapter and is highly anticipated by fans. But while Kara’s reveal doesn’t mark major developments for the series’ near future, Eida herself has been a bit of a disappointment so far.
Eida’s newly revealed ability is strong enough to pose a threat to even the ancient shinobi kaga. She has a form of clairvoyance that allows her to see any events happening around the world in real time. She can also view past events from any location, as long as they happened after she was born. This ability is why Code calls her “she knows everything in the world”.
Eida possesses a second passive ability that she cannot control. Just being near her, any man or woman will be instantly captivated by her. This results in them becoming hopelessly smitten with Eida, losing all will to do any harm to her even if they wanted to before. Eida is unable to fight. No one can resist falling in love with her, except her blood relatives and Otsutsuki.
Although it was an incredibly powerful ability, Eida hated it and resented Amado for granting it to her. According to Eida, it robbed her of any form of love. Since most people are mesmerized by her abilities, there is no way she can be sure that someone who has feelings for her will actually fall in love with her or if feelings are created. out of her ability.
Her conundrum is understandable, but what frustrates Eida is the way her entire character seems to be based on this dilemma. Naruto isn’t known for having the best female characters in writing or development and from what we’ve seen of her so far, EIDA may weakly join the women’s ranks. .
Her two abilities make her one of the most powerful characters in the series right now, and that doesn’t even take into account the body modifications Amado has done to her. But despite her powers, all Eida cares about is finding her perfect “prince”.
Eida was reawakened by Code, who wanted information on how to disable his power limiters. Though she couldn’t help it, the two joined forces to capture Boruto and Kawaki, both Otsutsuki members, for different reasons. Code intends to raise Boruto for the Ten-Tails and plant a new Magic Tree while Eida hopes to start a romance with Kawaki. Her ability won’t work on him as he was once possessed and changed by Karma.
Eida and Code look like they will be the main antagonists of the series in the future, and while both possess enough power to be considered very real threats, Code certainly stands out as having more consequential goals. Characters with unusual personalities are a big part of why fans love the manga, but for Eida, her motives seem to be more positive. Compared to Code, who almost single-handedly carried Otsutsuki’s will and stood to gain god-like powers if things went his way, Eida’s search for a lover seemed trivial.
