Spiler Dragon Ball Super Chapter 73, in which Goku confronts Granolah on Planet Cereal.
In Dragon Ball Super Chapter 72, Goku and Vegeta went to Planet Cereal to confront Granolah, as the Heeters convinced the two Saiyans that the last surviving Cerealian was indeed a villain. And thanks to Planet Cereal’s use of the Dragon Ball to become the most powerful warrior in the universe, Granolah had an impressive battle against Goku in a one-on-one duel. Dragon Ball Super Chapter 73 continues that fight – and what happens is absolutely shocking. Here’s a spoiler recap of what happened.
Initially, Goku fights Granolah while transforming into Super Saiyan Blue. In this form, Granolah is quite equal to Goku. The two blows exchange, but both can never really get ahead of the other. All of this proves that Granolah is indeed one of the strongest characters Goku has ever fought and is, in fact, stronger than Freeza who is the main enemy.
After the devastating battle, Goku and Granolah pause. Cerealian reveals that he has not been able to lock on to any of Goku’s vital points so far, as Ultra Instinct combined with Super Saiyan Blue makes Goku extremely good at evading. The two then continued the fight and exchanged several close-range explosions that rocked Planet Cereal. Goku, however, ends up making the exchange worse. Granolah then unleashed an attack on the de-energized Goku, nearly killing the Saiyan while simultaneously scaring the new inhabitants of Planet Cereal, the Sugarians.
Fortunately, Goku eventually teleports from the explosion to Vegeta, who realizes that Freeza and the Saiyans are responsible for the destruction of the Cerealians. Vegeta shares this information with Goku. The two come up with a battle plan and agree that they need to defeat Granolah in order to convince him that they are not the enemy.
With this new aim, Goku uses his infinity instincts, and this form proves too much for Granolah. Cerealian couldn’t find any of Goku’s vital points, and the Saiyan proceeded to take down his opponent. During the fight, Goku tries to convince Granolah to give up hope of destroying the Saiyans, but Cerealian is impatient. However, as the battle continues, Vegeta realizes something is very, very wrong: Granolah’s power doesn’t drop as it should.
Granolah is quick to admit that he underestimated the power of the Saiyans, and Goku was impressed by what he thought was Cerealian’s training, not realizing that he had cheated using the Dragon Ball. . Cerealian later revealed that he actually split his powers in two so he could save Freeza’s power. That means Goku has been fighting a Granolah clone the whole time.
The real Granolah then sneaks up on Goku, hitting him at a critical point. As Granolah reveals, Goku’s accuracy in Ultra Instinct degrades over time, which allows Cerealian to eventually find loopholes. However, before Granolah could kill Goku, Vegeta intervened and decided to take on Granolah himself, vowing to take him down. Which means the battle of Dragon Ball Super Chapter 74 will decide whether Cerealians or Saiyans will take place.
