My Hero Academia chapter 401 is a fierce chapter, an outcome that fans do not want to happen, is there still hope for the heroic team?
The chapter begins with a flashback of Stain flying to AM and AFO’s fight in his glider. Stain deduces what is going on from the conversation between All Might, Ingenium, and “the kid with the burn scar”. The closer he got, the more rubble and blood stains he saw.
Stain was not sure if the blood belonged to All Might or AFO, so he decided to smell it and since he knew All Might’s scent from the time he met him on Kamino, Stain confirmed that it was not All Might’s. Back to the present and Stain wonders if All Might has understood the meaning of his existence.
Stain said all that on Kamino because he wanted AM to value his life and continue fighting death, and All Might said he understood that. The two attack and Stain does his own version of “I’m here”, but it’s useless. AFO uses “Forced Activation” + “Phlebotomy”
This Quirk combination causes AFO’s blood to be forced out of his body and splash around. AFO said that he knew Stain would try to do something against him, since Stain was the only one to leave Tartarus on his own, so Stain must have come up with a plan.
Stain says he just needs to lick the blood again, but AFO also uses “Antigen Modification” to change the composition of his blood. After all, running away without leaving evidence is how he stayed in the dark all these years. A mouth then emerges from AFO’s back and bites Stain.
Stain is injured and the AFO taunts him, saying that draining his own blood and replacing it has calmed him down. AM shouted Stain’s name
But the AFO threw Stain several blocks away and flew away.
Stain lies collapsed in a game center and AFO says he will steal his powers.
All Might was flying towards them
AFO started talking. He says Stain is very important to the development of Tomura and the League of Villains, but Stain’s role in this story stops there. Stain says that’s not true because it’s all part of one big process.
Even though he never finished high school, All Might taught Stain what it means to be a hero. “Win this battle and move on,” Stain raised his hands as if in prayer.
On the next page, All For One punches Stain and a lot of blood splashes out.
AFO then turns to attack All Might
But Hercules flew in just in time to protect him. All Might thought the car was completely destroyed, but a few pieces remained. Hercules also told All Might to live and was then destroyed by All For One’s laser.
A terrible blow.
The next page shows All Might lying on the ground. Nana appears and tells All Might to stand up. AM also saw Nighteye and understood that they were just an illusion, his own body was trying to cheer him up. All Might had lost all his support equipment and his legs couldn’t move, but…
“I’m not dead yet! Come here if it’s delicious!” All Might was covered in blood and crawling on the ground, but he was still smiling.
The last page shows AFO looking at UA as the police say he has gotten close enough to Shigaraki, he can now use his teleportation ability.
