One Piece chapter 1066 with the cover continues to be the story about Germa 66 with the story of the four sisters Reiju and Caesar returning to the Germa Empire.
Continuing the scene where the Straw Hats met Shaka in the previous chapter of One Piece, the group wondered about Shaka's question and the existence of the kingdom 900 years ago.
Shaka said archaeologists risk their lives to learn about that kingdom and create hypotheses. This theory was reinforced when they found a “Machine” whose age matched the time the hypothetical kingdom existed.
Robin asked if that machine was created in 100 blank years. Nami was surprised that Robin knew about the story Shaka told. Shaka asked Robin how much he knew about the story and began to tell it.
Shaka recounted the tragedy that happened in Ohara. 22 years ago, where Robin was born, Ohara Island was leveled by the Navy's Buster Call.
The reason for this was because Ohara knew about the existence of that “kingdom”. At the time of “100 blank years” there was once an advanced civilization. At that time, there was a war between “that kingdom” and 20 other kingdoms.
The winning side was the 20 kingdoms, the predecessors of the current World Government. And to ensure that no one continued the ideology of “That Kingdom”, the winning side erased the existence of that kingdom from history.
The whole group was extremely surprised by this story. Sanji immediately understood the problem and immediately asked Shaka about the fate of those who knew about that theory.
Shaka says everyone who knew about it was wiped out. Nami and Usopp were extremely scared and kept muttering that they had never heard this story. Usopp even tried to hit his head on the ground to lose his memory, but Shaka reassured them that it was just a hypothesis.
Shaka turned to Robin and asked if the Government wiped out Ohara because of this theory, then they recognized it as “Truth”, right?
Robin told Shaka not to underestimate the Ohara scholars. Those scholars concluded this hypothesis from studying important documents. So even if someone with a high position like Vegapunk said that to the Government, it wouldn't change anything.
Shaka said that he was just like Robin, even though he worked for the Government, if he mentioned it, he would be prosecuted.
Usopp was scared now and said he didn't want to hear about this anymore and asked Shaka to let them go. Robin wondered why Vegapunk knew about “that Kingdom” when all of Ohara's documents were lost.
Shaka says Ohara's will lives on and talks about that day, 22 years ago. The day the whole world was in an uproar because the world-famous Ohara scholar island was destroyed in just one night and only one little girl survived.
The World Government accuses Ohara of being an evil scholar plotting to dominate the world. A few months later Vegapunk aboard the Navy ship Punk Hazard arrived at Ohara, which burned down.
Vegapunk was an old acquaintance of Clover, Robin did not know about this. Vegapunk says Clover is an adventurer who is very interested in the “Void Century”. He traveled around the world collecting documents and was arrested and imprisoned 10 times by the Navy.
Clover then became famous and became the world's number one archaeologist, gathering scholars in Ohara and establishing a mecca for archeology.
Upon arriving at Ohara, Vegapunk was shocked when the Marines burned the Tree of Knowledge. At the lake in the central area, Vegapunk saw countless books lying in the lake. It was an effort to preserve the knowledge of the scholars in Ohara when the place was burned down by the Buster Call.
Vegapunk cried when he saw that scene. The marines saw the books but did not realize their value, Vegapunk called it Ohara's victory.
Listening to Shaka, Robin also recalled that moment when she broke up with her mother, Olivia.
Olivia's last words came to Robin's mind:
“Robin. History is “property” for humanity.
We shouldn't give up on the future you will live in!!”
Robin left with Saul with his words about Olivia and Ohara, who fought well.
Robin burst into tears because of those memories, but the others misunderstood that Shaka made her cry.
Robin confirmed to Shaka what he had guessed, the Ohara scholars tried to declare the existence of “That Kingdom”. Robin asked Shaka about what happened next at Ohara.
Shaka said that when he was there, he wanted to bring all those books back to Punk Hazard but was dismissed by his superiors.
And then he saw among the ruins several giants dragging books ashore.
Vegapunk was wondering what the giants were going to do with the books when a voice called him from afar.
His caller recognized Vegapunk by his characteristic hair.
Vegapunk turned around and realized it was Dragon.
Both wondered why the other was here and learned that they were both acquaintances of Clover.
Pictures of both were revealed.
Dr. Vegapunk (Punk Hazard Research Team Leader, 43 years old) has a long mustache and a tongue that always sticks out. His head is also unusually longer than his body.
Monkey D. Dragon (Freedom Leader, 33 years old), his appearance is still the same as now but at this time he still has no tattoo on his face.
Both held a bouquet of flowers.
Vegapunk tells Dragon about how he met Clover. Vegapunk said that the Government accusing Clover of destroying the world was truly ridiculous and that it was just information manipulation.
Dragon explained to Vegapunk about the giants. Dragon asked about them and knew that these people were from Elbaf, and they also knew the value of those books. Dragon said the person giving orders to the giants was a strange person with bandages wrapped around his glasses.
That strange person said: “I will not let the assets Ohara left behind be erased from history.”
Dragon is happy that the people from the Government (referring to Vegapunk as well) did not realize the value of the books and did not destroy them.
Vegapunk corrected himself that he had no intention of destroying the books, but Dragon dismissed it and said he did not want to listen to the words of the Government's hunting dogs.
Dragon recalls how Vegapunk once refused Vegapunk's invitation to join the Revolutionary Army and Vegapunk said he refused because Dragon's poor Army could not help Vegapunk fully utilize his intelligence and technology.
Vegapunk says the World Government is a large organization, especially people like the Marines can understand Vegapunk's ideals. Vegapunk also reminded Dragon not to lose sight of his goals.
Dragon said he understood that, but this Ohara incident made him extremely angry. Dragon criticized those who used the law to brutally oppress weak researchers just because they had “irrational thoughts”. Dragon said he would create an army that could fight against those people.
Dragon told Vegapunk his last words before leaving that he would not let CLover's death and Ohara's Will be in vain.
Returning to the present, Shaka said that at that time Dragon together with Emporio Ivankoc and Bartholomew Kuma created a “Revolutionary Army” that shocked the world.
The whole group was very shocked by the story Shaka told. Nami was surprised because Luffy's father was so fierce, Usopp was surprised because of Elbaf. Robin did not know that Dragon and Clover knew each other. Franky with questions about Kuma saving the Straw Hats and Vegapunk correcting Kuma. Sanji was also surprised because the bastard “Iva” was one of the members who founded the Revolutionary Army.
Shaka confirmed that Ohara's books did not fall into the hands of the Government and because he was interested in them, he went to Elbaf.
The giants of Elbaf let Vegapunk read all the books there. There Vegapunk met Saul, who was covered in bandages.
Shaka said he had read all the knowledge in Ohara, knew the world's secrets, all of which were stored in his head.
Robin asked the giant who gave the order if his name was Saul and Shaka said yes. Shaka says Saul is currently in hiding so his whereabouts must be kept a secret.
Robin thanked Vegapunk and told him not to let Ohara's battle be meaningless.
Shaka says he is an ally of all scholars and that is his nature as a researcher.
Shaka controlled the shoes and moved Sanji's group to a place where he revealed something.
Scene changes to Luffy's group, junkyard. Luffy climbed onto the ancient robot's shoulders.
Luffy couldn't find a place to control it, so Chopper thought it was some kind of automatic mechanism and tried giving voice commands but it didn't work.
Luffy thought maybe the robot needed “Name” as a password to control it and called it Robonosuke. Chopper also followed suit and called it Roboking.
Suddenly a shock wave emitted from the robot.
An old man appeared from the robot and called for help.
This person said that the space around him was distorted when he was in a bent state.
Luffy saw that this situation was similar to the time Kinemon was stuck in Punk Hazard, so he helped and pulled the old man out.
Bonney realized who he was and became angry.
After being pulled out, the old man said he knew Luffy was Dragon's son and also knew he came to this place.
The old man also recognized Bonney and said that she had grown up.
Only then did Luffy realize the old man was floating in the air.
Bonney got angry and said that the old man was Vegapunk.
Vegapunk realized they were also wearing DOM shoes and introduced a hover function by pressing the button while holding down the lever.
Luffy and Chopper did the same and then they all flew up.
The old man is precisely introduced as Dr. Vegapunk, Head of the World Famous Special Science Genius Group (SSG). Vegapunk's appearance changes, with his hair, eyebrows, and beard turning gray. His oversized head is no longer there, replaced by an apple-shaped cap on his head. Vegapunk's face looks exactly like Albert Einstein.
