Episode 4 Spy x Family – Twilight prepared for all possibilities, set up wiretaps and researched each professor’s background.
Twilight is starting to show the character of a father, a more family man. The line between Twilight, the top spy, and Loid Forger, the family man, is becoming more blurred. Twilight noticed it too, as when he lost his cool during a tense school interview. There are so many firsts for Twilight – not only the first time he loses his cool, but the first time his mission doesn’t seem like a huge success – he even walks away surprisingly before the interview ended.
The question after episode 4 Spy x Family is: who is the real Twilight or Loid Forger? Loid Forger started out as Twilight’s character, but it seems from flashbacks in the previous few episodes that family life is reminding him that family, children, and their happiness are at the heart of the action. forces him to become a spy. Twilight needs a family for her mission because family lives and seeing their individual inner reactions make Spy x Family highly entertaining.
I found the teachers to be an interesting mix and was able to see personality conflicts. Specifically between Mr. Elegance, Henderson and Mr. Swan. I have to agree with Loid and Henderson that Swan went a little too far in blaming her family problems on someone else. Especially since pushing it to the point of making Anya cry.
What’s interesting is that while Twilight had prepared for all possibilities, eavesdropping on rooms and researching each professor’s background, Swan’s ungainness provoked a reaction he couldn’t have prepared for. Normally, I would say that it marks the turning point in Twilight’s career if his emotions get in the way. To be honest, though, I don’t think Spy x Family is the kind of story that will solve that, with part of the hit coming from its humorous and heartwarmingly dramatic family moments.
As expected, the Forger family was prepared, to the point of not one, but two additional dressing changes, impressing even the very owner of the elegance, Professor Henderson. Once again, they demonstrate their outstanding teamwork in stamping out stray animals, with Loid’s quick rescue, Yor’s attack tactics, and Anya’s love of animals.
However, I find it unusual that Anya can read not only humans but also animal minds, which could exhibit some unique abilities, like calming an agitated cow. It’s hard to believe that the three of them work so well together, even without knowing each other’s deepest secrets.
