Kodoani.com – Square Enix announced via a Nintendo Direct on Thursday that it will release a new game in the SaGa series, titled SaGa Emerald Beyondscheduled for release on various platforms in 2024.
The trailer introduces new characters such as Tsunamori Mido, Ameya, Bonnie, Formina, Diva No. 5 and Siugnas, along with Timeline Battles.
Each character in the game will go on a journey across 17 different worlds, with many different story branches and endings.
The SaGa series has existed since 1992 with the game Romancing SaGa for the Super Famicom (SNES) console.
Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song is a remake of the original game, released for the PlayStation 2 in 2005. Other games in the series include Romancing SaGa 2 (1993) and Romancing SaGa 3 (1995), both of which have had versions. remade for many different platforms. SaGa Scarlet Grace launched on PlayStation Vita in 2016 and later launched on many other platforms.
Square Enix released the role-playing game SaGa Frontier for PlayStation in 1997 and then in North America in 1998. A remastered version of the game, titled SaGa Frontier Remastered, was released for PS5, PS4, Switch, PC via Steam, iOS and Android in April 2021.
With SaGa Emerald Beyond, Square Enix continues to expand the diverse world and unique style of the SaGa series, promising to bring an exciting experience to players when it launches in 2024.
