J-Novel Club publishes the series digitally since 2021
Kodoani.com – Square Enix Manga & Books will publish the light novel series “The Apothecary Diaries” by Matsu Hyūga in English, in collaboration with J-Novel Club. Volume 1 of this light novel series will be released on May 14. The print edition includes color art inserts and illustrations black and white.
“The Apothecary Diaries” is about a palace servant who is trained in herbal medicine and is later promoted to food taster. This story revolves around her life in a royal family full of intrigue and mystery.
The light novel series was adapted into an anime, and the first three volumes premiered on October 21. In the anime, Aoi Yūki voices the main character Maomao, and Takeo Ōtsuka plays Jinshi.
Author Matsu Hyūga began writing the story on the website “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” in October 2011, before it was published as a light novel. A manga adaptation of the story is being published in Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan magazine and has been released in English by Square Enix Manga & Books.
